The coital position is among the most common positions done by couples. Missionary is often preferred because of its skin-to-skin contact, allowing the couple to face each other romantically.

Coital is often preferred because of its skin-to-skin contact, allowing the couple to face each other romantically.
The position is easy to do, but involves most of the work being done by the man who is able to pace his rhythm while engaging in the position.
For the coital position, the woman lies on her back with her legs spread open.
The man lies on top of the woman between her spread legs, holding his upper torso up with his arms.
She is free to use her hands as she pleases, and can place her hands on the man’s buttocks to control his rhythm.
Alternatively, the woman can also raise her legs and hold them closer to her chest for greater depth.
Being one of the most common positions, coital has many possible alternatives since the woman is free to move her legs, arms, and waist.
Because of the woman’s freedom of movement in this position, one can easily change up the standard missionary position with one’s partner.
This can be done by either positioning the woman’s body at different angles, moving her legs, and or using a pillow to adjust the posture of the woman for different romantic effect, for example.
